I am the Director of Data Science Services and Lead Data Scientist at the Institute for Quantitative Social Science (IQSS) at Harvard University. Since 2011, I have served as a consultant and collaborator on over 2,000 research projects spanning machine learning, deep learning, and Bayesian and frequentist inference, working primarily in R and Python.

My academic background bridges the life sciences and data science. I hold a Ph.D. in Biological Anthropology from New York University, where my research focused on phylogenetic systematics and morphometric analysis of hominoid primates. I also hold an A.L.M. in Data Science from Harvard University, where I was a Dean’s List Academic Achievement Award recipient.

My current methodological interests include Bayesian inference (Stan, brms, PyMC3), multilevel modeling, simulation-based power analysis, and reproducible computational workflows. I have published in journals including PNAS, Science Advances, JAMA Network Open, Current Biology, and New Phytologist, among others, with over 2,500 citations.

I live in Cambridge, MA with my wife Anna, our dog Beckett, and our cat Bagel. Outside of work, I enjoy hiking with Beckett, photography, and typography.
